I keep trying it on acoustic guitar, wanting to like it but it just sounds flat and 2 demensional, no depth for me. I tried different guitars and different players, all no go. I have had better luck with my OSA mp-1 or API 312 but my current preferences above all of those are Pendulum Quartet or Avalon 737.
Oh yeah, I loved the P-1 with a 57 on the top of my leslie cab. About the only thing I have not tried it on yet is my Kawai Grand.
I do want another P-1 for stereo, but not for acoustic guitar. My 2 cents. |
Hi Surfkat,
First, thank you for your purchase of the P-1.
Second, I don't know which mic you were using on the acoustic but you have a few options here.
If you have a good Tube mic.........I always suggest the Pearlman TM-1.........but try any Tube Mic and use the "Pad" switch on the P-1. You may find that the P-1 will produce a different sonic character............maybe even one that you like?
