Well I've finally decided to part with the voyager. To make a long story short I absolutely love the basses/sub basses you can get out of this thing but I just don't care for the top end at all. I've been trying for 2 weeks to make a lead sound that I really like that is bright and exciting but I just can't get it out of the Voyager. I'm not sure whether its the filter calibration, oscs, or VCA causing the "darkness" but I just can't have a $3k synth only being used for basses. If I was rich I would keep it but such is not the case.
Right now i'm considering possibly a mopho or an se1x to use as a replacement. I'm basically looking for a Mono synth with midi that can do thick basses and nice bright leads.
Silly question but ill ask as I made this mistake. Select a saw play it with filter cut off fully open. Not very bright? Correct because it isn't fully open. Take the amount filtered knob and open all way to right. Still not buzzy enough? If so get a minimoog
