I don´t want to sound rude but recommending him some trash does not seem very helpful to me. Anyway, I´m not a big fan of mainstream music and the artist he mentioned in his OP but I do not see any problems in recommending him some of the better stuff from the electronic underground. Maybe not mainstream enough but at least he has the chance listening to some outstanding artists.
If you like the sounds of Skrillex try some of the harder and darker Drum and Bass stuff like Noisia, Black Sun Empire or Calyx. Perhaps Depth Charge aka Jonathan Saul Kane could be interesting too (not quite sure but this is something that only you can decide).
If you like Kraftwerk but are looking for a more modern electro sound you should check out Drexciya (eg "Wavejumper") or AUX88 (eg "I Need To Freak").
If you are interested in House music watch "Pump Of The Volume" on youtube. An excellent documentary about the history of house music. It lasts only 1 hour but you will learn a lot. |
Thanks a LOT for this reply .
I actually Am a very mainstream guided guy, and my dream, really, is to produce music for a lot of people to listen. But I obviously need better inspiration than just what mainstream artists offer.
Thanks for your help =)
