That's unfortunate to hear, I bought the pair I was auditioning (686 not 685) shortly before your reply. Although I am the market they were aiming for, I am using them in my home theater setup. I was also impressed by them due to the fact I was comparing them to my JBL studio L series, which are now for sale.
I was going to make a thread for this but I will just post about it here. I have the asw610 sub with a pair of 686 bookshelfs right now. Since I have already invested into the B&W 600 series I would like to finish my 5.1 setup. I am trying to decide between what to get for my center channel and my mains.
The htm62 is priced at 395 and the htm61 is 585. I did notice more range and detail on the 61 but is the difference in quality worth the added price?
I also have the same question for the mains. Unfortunately the closest dealer did not have a pair of 683 or 685 for me to listen to (I have decided against the 684). I am wanting the best bang for the buck for my mains between the three. I hope to audition a 683 and 685 to let my ears decide, however, since I can not do so at this time, I was hoping some members on this forum could share some insight.
