Yeah. He was really specific about what kind of sound I was looking for, and, judging from his site and several others, you can go from clean and sweet to gnarly just by changing transformers and stuff.
RE: A-Designs - the Blue module sounds like it's got the 'smile' curve going on, which would be one option. It's a little more hyped than the P1, which is supposed to be based on the Pacifica that everyone raves about. They both sound good to me, definitely more 'open' than a generic mic pre.
