I liked it and it has two possibilities: 1) Adult Contemporary, or 2) College Alt meaning the kind of stuff they play on the nonprofit college station in my town. I like simplicity in songs but many people don't. You'd do better by enhancing the lyrics to attract a wider audience. People want songs to tell stories, to take them places with a changing landscape along the way. Your song is more of a slow emotional appeal without the necessary visuals.
But I'm not selling your song short because it has a quality that other successful female artists such as Julie Miller (alt country) do well with for example. But they give their lyrics a bit more variety, that being the difference. For an example of what I'm talking about, see Julie Miller's song I Could Cry on youtube.
