We've been working on the song as a band and we tried reducing the number of modulations a bit (took out the one in the second chorus) but the chorus dies a bit when we do that. The other thing we've done is start it just with single voice and guitar, and then let it build up into the second verse/chorus, and then there's some nice ripping bluesy lead work in the bridge before it all comes back for the final chorus.
I was having a lush pop moment when I recorded that demo but it's funny how much songs change once the band gets a hold of them.

I love the idea of the song musically and the premise of the lyric I think you would do well to polish it production wise of course but lyrically I would like to see a better a pay off at the end of the chorus on why you should, "Hold on to love" as opposed to it being a better day maybe going the direction more literally of how it would benefit you, as opposed to arbitrarily it's going to be a better day, why is it going to be a better day? Other than that I love the chord structure and melody, yes I can hear the intended melody unlike other folks, although I would be wrong if I condoned the vocal performance you know this already. Great song, everything I love about the Beatles singer/songwriter thing!
