Now on a more technical way :
DSP are Digital signal processors and they're specaillised in doing Digital signal treatment(calculation) in one Clock "cycle" ...so underpowered but damm efficient on what we ask for ....
the second thing is that you have a 100% predictable replicable results of calculation (will not vary) so you will have your sound treatement waranty on any comp you gonna use and no matter solution you use ....
So DSP is not only a question of power ....a lot of dude reduces the debates on this ....
the thing for me is that UAD really sucks when they're out of one config type : MACS ....ask them for windows efficienty and the ressources (dev) are low !
they focus all their solution on Macs technology witch is the lost versatile on the market !!
