So u can only put effects on the channels that route thru the preamps (1 & 2)? I was gonna run a GAP 73 into the inserts in the back (3 or 4). I wouldn't be able to put effects on those channels?

It does look like the effects are only on inputs 1 & 2. However, those inputs are both mic and line inputs, so you could put your GAP 73 through those inputs while bypassing the preamp.
