unless you are
extremely charismatic, nobody good is going to follow you on an "adventure" until you have the money coming in to pay them. No pay= no team.
you can trust someone you are paying, because if they screw up, you don't hire them again.
I have always found that once I have a budget at my disposal, finding the people I need is the easy part. I have been collecting business cards for years. I often know these people already, even with an obscure specialization, a little asking around usually turns up some likely candidates.
