I assume that you use the recordings you listed because you believe them to be good sounding recordings. I would think that if these recordings sound full on playback systems other than your studio monitors on but yet thin on them....then your monitors are thin ( or monitoring system / room as a whole). That is what learning your monitors/ room is all about. In this situation my mind tells me to make my music sound more like what the reference recordings sound like coming through the monitors. Shooting for "fuller" on a not so broadband sounding system could just lead to muddy or high endy or both when played back over a fuller system where youre tried and true classic sounding references sound good to you. Its like backwards thinking but it makes sense if you think about it.
