That could explain why one person might think it was in one key (by looking at the sheet music, for example) while another thought it was in a different key (by listening).
I think Mozart might have gotten a kick out of the silly but practical music theory rule that whatever key it ENDS in is the key the piece is in. Because I once heard a piece where he started in one key, and then, at the very end, changes to another key. LOL. I thought it was funny. Like, "Ha! And you thought it was in another key!" being that it was in some other key the whole time, but then "technically" changes to another key right at the very end. Very cute.
Or so my vague memory seems to tell me.
