I would say that console could be worth what they're asking due to the fact that 80Cs tend to go for a little more because of their monitor sections and also because of how many inputs this one has. I believe most 80Cs had some sort of (VCA) automation as well. Or at least they were setup to drop automation in with little effort. Just going on what I've heard.

As for the recap, you might want to verify that. Also, my 80B was supposedly recapped when I got it, but a tech showed me that a lot of the voltages on the caps were too low and there were all kinds of different caps in it (Nichicon, NTE, Xicon, Mallory, Elma, etc.). My tech thought it best to recap with the same kind of cap (Nichicon PW series) at the proper voltages and temperature ratings so that the console would be even across the board. It makes trouble shooting much easier that way. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can do it yourself. Caps for the input modules on the one you're looking at would probably run you $500-$600. If you do go that route, make sure you spend the $200 or so on a Hako 808 desoldering tool. Trust me on this one!
