Hi all.
Just a quick note sing the praises of the Zoom R16. I'd been warned off it but decided my budget wouldn't stretch to anything else. I took my drums and the R16 to my local village hall and close mic'd the set along with two SE2200As for overheads and a recently repaired JM47 for the ambience at the back of the hall. Tom mics went through a Symetrix 302 - the hihat and ambient mic through a pair of Meek VC3Qs. On the mix below, I switch in and out the ambient mic every few bars. No artificial reverb was added. It's all the hall. Mixing done the next day on Reaper using some SSL channel strips.
I was pretty stunned by the quality of the R16s recording.

Hope it may be of help to those who are unsure as to the R16s abilities.
