Ok, to go along with my little collage above;
Ever since well I guess about 1990, the MKS80/MPG80 has been seen as one of the real legends, and Roland paid respect to this with the JP8080 which bears a strong similarity to a MPG atop a MKS. Also, the MPG80 was tabletop (as well) and so was the JP8080.
I think it could be amazing - and become a real hit for Roland - if the price is right.
Fact is, my mind starts spinning because I belong to the old ones who stood in line waiting for our JV-1080s and still swear by it. My first "professional" synth (after a CZ101) was a Juno 2. My first dream synth was the JX8P. The second one was the D50. Now I have them all. And I still love these instruments. So even though we are very critical today, the love we have for Roland is genuine and real.
If they only would do something about it to refresh the romance!
