The only difference between one key and another is the quality/timbre of the instrument playing it.
For instance, alot of singers put songs in certain keys based on how good their voice sounds singing the song in that key.
On synths I've found even a whole-step is enough to change the vibe of what I'm playing. Depends on the patch and the part and the effects and everything else I suppose.
