I rely upon sound samples of products I sometimes can hear on the manufaurer's website.

Recently I demo'ed a bunch of acoustic guitar pickups, not knowing what I wanted, and ended up getting the LR Baggs M1A, which sounded great to me on the website demo, and once I got it, even better in real life, so I found the website demo to be very helpful.

These website demo's are a great selling tool, I wish more manufacturers would do them.
