Can something similar be done in ÜberMod? Perhaps you have a setting for something like this... ?
I love the plugin. |
I need to get an Eventide one of these days, to dial this sort of sound in, and for overall inspiration. Eventide has been at this sort of stuff for a few decades. Do people have any Eventide suggestions? I know that the H3000 has some sonic quirks/advantages over the later units, but the DSP4000 and later have more algorithms.
Anyway, here's a quick attempt at a stereo detuner:
<ValhallaUberMod pluginVersion="1.0.1" presetName="BasicStereoDetune" Mix="0.5" Depth="0.5" StereoWidth="0.5" Delay="0.0386999995" Feedback="0" Spread="1" Slope="0.5" Skew="0" Random="0" TapGain="0.5" Diffusion="0.5" DiffSize="0.0204081628" DiffModRate="0.0490490496" DiffModDepth="0.5" LowCut="0" HighCut="1" SpatialXover="0.145728648" DetuneRate="0.0490490496" DetuneDepth="0.5" VibratoRate="0.298245579" VibratoDepth="0" OverMod="0" DriveInGain="0.375" DriveOutGain="0.75" DriveNoiseGain="0.333333343" FeedbackRotate="0.5" SmoothingTime="0.0990990996" ColorMode="0" DelaySync="0" type="0.0416666679" DiffEnable="0" Drive="0" DrivePrePost="1" Speed="0" InputPan="0.125"/>
This uses a variation of the basic stereo chorus default patch, with the delay time turned up, and with TAPS Spread and TAPS Skew used to create a stereo delay spread. The pitch shifting of the Eventide is replaced by the "antiphase" modulation used in ÜberMod. Instead of having the left channel shifted up and the right channel shifted down as in the Eventide, the left and right channels alternate between left and right shifts. This produces a similar detuned image to the Eventides, although the effect isn't identical.
The pitch shifting used in the Eventide will have some inherent delay, so the delay times listed in the display of the Eventide are in addition to the delay of the pitch shifting. The delay of these overlap/add pitch shifters is variable over time, and ranges between essentially no delay and a few tens of milliseconds. I've simulated this wider delay in the following ÜberMod preset:
<ValhallaUberMod pluginVersion="1.0.1" presetName="WiderStereoDetune" Mix="0.507000029" Depth="0.5" StereoWidth="0.513999999" Delay="0.0386999995" Feedback="0" Spread="1" Slope="0.5" Skew="0" Random="0" TapGain="0.5" Diffusion="0.5" DiffSize="0.0204081628" DiffModRate="0.0490490496" DiffModDepth="0.5" LowCut="0" HighCut="1" SpatialXover="0.145728648" DetuneRate="0.0160160158" DetuneDepth="0.5" VibratoRate="0.298245579" VibratoDepth="0" OverMod="0.0969696939" DriveInGain="0.375" DriveOutGain="0.75" DriveNoiseGain="0.333333343" FeedbackRotate="0.5" SmoothingTime="0.0990990996" ColorMode="0" DelaySync="0" type="0.0416666679" DiffEnable="0" Drive="0" DrivePrePost="1" Speed="0" InputPan="0.125"/>
This preset uses a slower modulation speed than the first preset, but cranks up the MOD OverMod control, which results in wider variable delays as well as more pitch change.
I haven't played with ÜberMod in a few months. I forgot how complicated this plugin is.

I also forgot how powerful it can be.

So, if you have any more preset requests, let me know!
