Had a 1952 that was beautiful to look at, felt like genuflecting in front of it when I entered the room, but it was kind of heavy and I couldn't bond with it so I traded it for a 1963 Olympic White Strat and a 1957 ES 175 D...
Anyways, this one is light, very light, stiff-necked and worn more than my other vintage guitars...but Tele's look best with some life in them. Right Dano?
Would like to find a great Blackguard, favor an Esquire. Had a chance whilst in Nashville on business to have Joe Glaser refret and plek my 1958 Strat (played it so much that frets were almost gone) and man it came out great. Put a special fret wire that looks vintage but is a 5% wider so it covered the marks from the previous frets. Joe was refretting two of Vince Gil's Blackguards and used that same wire. I got to play one of them to get a feel for the frets...man what a fine Tele Mr. G has!!!
And if anyone should have a great one, he should.
