More specifically - I mean that in practice, the 1.6k impedance is loading down the mic enough to suck away the finer details in the signal, and that in this case, sacrificing a bit of noise performance (which is so superior to the noise performance of my mics as to make it a non-issue) is worth the gains in signal integrity.
