I'm in the process of designing a new studio in the garden of my new house but in the mean time I'm having to use the dining room of my house as a mix room.

I'm going to be building several bass traps, broadband absorbers and a few skyline diffusers. my main question is that I have quite a bit of Auralex 2", 1" and 4" panels and I was wondering what the effect of combining a layer of roxul / rockwool 2" thick then 2 x 1" Auralex then another layer of 2" roxul / rockwool for my broadband absorbers would do? Would it be more effective than just having 6" of roxul / rockwool?
