It's clear from the OP that he's talking about the superiority of the complete instrument from the player's point of view.

It's amazing how many people seemingly re-write every GS topic in their own head, so that it becomes an invitation to post about whatever they use.
He's not just talking about latency, by the way. He's talking about the way an actual musician interacts with an actual instrument. Could be a piano or guitar or violin or harmonica. Though there are exceptions, this would not generally apply to a VI. And I believe that is the OP's point.
