Lets say I want to do a vocal take and the singer wants a little reverb on her voice. Ok here we go
I use fireface so she is monitoring the clean signal through the Total mix zero latency.
Now I have to press direct in on the channel I record on
Turn the volume down so she wont her the signal from cubase with latency
press prefader on the send so I can send the verb
Ok ready to go
Now finish take now I have to do undo all these tweaks plus volume and send level to listen back.
I dont know if there is a an easier way but I find this a pain and very disruptive when you want to listen back quickly. Please enlighten me with an easier way if not cubase please make a verb button or something easier... |
well you can monitor through cubase instead, but set the audio interface latency to as low as possible so it's not noticeable for the singer. other than that, some interfaces include built-in simple fx for this very purpose.
