yeah i see all the threads on this subject so i do apologize for another post of an already very talked about subject. for me it would greatly help to have a decent drawing of the basic techniques. if i knew how to do the techniques well (and draw)...i'd get this done so its easy to have a reference point for others. Dialing in a good sound more of a challenge. every room and situation/ mics are different but here's a basic idea what i'd do if i could...
DRAW A KIT. Show where the mic stands might go per technique as opposed to the mics....
then where the mics might be facing .It's fairly endless i realize so i'd give 3 examples per technique..for example. I've seen x/y above the drummers head, x/y in front of the kit etc. SDC and or LDC...very different.
thanks and sorry to bother. i did find some drawings but looks like an experienced drum recordist with a very non 3D perspective...or i just couldn't really tell..
