Thanks for the kind words guys. The desk is actually made from my old rack (that I made as well). You can see the black equipment rack in the pics on my website. I cut it in 2 and then cut them down to 12 rack spaces and tied them together and cut the top. I work in data/telecom for my real job and I have access to all the rack rails one could need. I took a 7 foot Chatsworth data rack with the "U" shaped rails, and ripped them down the middle with a jig saw. That gave me 28 feet total rack rail. And there's plenty more where that came from.

I know what you mean about leaving the speaker on stands. That is what I would like to do. But I really need the rack space that it would give me to put them on the desk (see the link in my 1st post). Right now I'm out of space. Unless I loose some gear. That's not going to happen, this is gearslutz right.
