Do you guys apply for your LLC with the secretary of state first or do you sign with ASCAP/BMI first?

Sounds like you would do you LLC first then sign with a publishing company.

I've heard different stories about waiting until you get a hot song out because the PRO's will invite you to sign with them and give you an advance $$$ to sign with them.

Though you can always get what's owed to you, a guy from a HUGE tv network told me it would be harder to track that way if I waited and he suggested a go ahead and sign up.

Any info on this?
