| What is a 'focussed' vocal sound?
What do you think is meant by focussed sound, especially in vocals? I've been comparing a vocal recorded through an MR816x directly and secondly through a Millennia pre and Lavry converter. The MR816x sounds more focussed to me, in your face, jumping out of the middle of the speakers, but listening closely to the Millennia/lavry combo it's a far more open sound, more top certainly and a wonderful sheen.
So does 'focussed' mean less information, less open?
