Im getting ready to build out my basement studio.

My floors are currently concrete. Would I be better off staining them or should I put down a laminate floor? Is one acoustically preferred over the other? I have a control room, a live room (I'm planning on tracking drums and small string ensembles) and also a vocal/iOS booth that I'll be dealing with.

If a laminate floor is recommended, will the depth of the boards matter? I'm finding decent deals on 12mm in my area, but obviously 6mm and 7mm are cheaper. I get concerned with the cloppy sound from some laminates, but if y'all say that's what I need, I'm all ears...
