I hear multiple layers. The sound is distorted, but not crunchy distorted. This makes me think that each note is on a separate channel, and they are all distorted separately, or they just used a ton of saturation and pitch LFOs to give it a buzz without sounding like mush when playing chords (its pretty distorted though, so probably not this option). There's an obvious sub bass layer, and what sounds like a mid layer with chords, and a top layer for the changing notes, and then finally the highly reverbed pitchy guy at 2:20

I would literally probably start with getting some saws or pulses distorted split up among multiple channels and having each one play single notes for a chord together...add a sub bass layer, group/bus them together, and compress &/or saturate the bus a tad to glue it all together.
