sounds like your mics are way to close to the cymbals.
When I mike overheads I usually go about 7 feet above the ground. This gives me a great balance. I also use a x/y pattern over the snare.
if your ceilings are too low try getting a sound absorber panel (703 type) in the ceiling above the drums and place the mic directly behind it. Or you could also just back off the kit several feet behind it.
