Perception is a very powerful thing; more so than most realize, but we're only human. But, as I mentioned in another thread, consider this: Who says perception can't have a positive effect? If you feel good about an expensive purchase, and this feeling is based on perception only, as an example, why wouldn't this feeling change the way you use it in a positive way, contributing to a better product? IMO, if you feel good about something, you're going to use it differently than something you're not too sure about.
