Also, I think if I remember correctly, that you have to actually upload the config to the interface. Older interfaces were like this, where they kept a config on the device which included clocking settings, I/O, ADAT (on or off), Standalone (on or off), etc.
Check your manual on how to upload the config to the interface, and how to set the routing and upload it, with the standalone config.
If you can't get that to work, I would work with Focusrite, you technically just bought the thing, so they should honor the warranty.
I bought a 2 or 3 year old MC Control, that was a B stock that my pro shop found in the back of thier wearhouse, that they did not even have in inventory, and I got a great deal. I got it home and it did not work. AVID sent me a replacement B stock unit without question, since I had a recipt.
Oh and Focusrite had always treated me great with support.
