I do all the time, my usual tracking chain for vocals is an ADL 600 into a CL1b.
In the mix I tend to use an Oram GMS on the vocal. To be honest you can leave the CL1b on auto and it will be fine 99.9% of the time. 4:1 works well and use a pop filter and don't let the artist get too close to the mic
