| Another sE gem!
I bought the GM10 as I was getting bored of setting mics up to record acoustic guitar. Lazy, I know!
To be honest it has become so much more than a lazy alternative to a mic stand. I've used them to get live recordings and they give fantastic results. they pick up a dazzling array of frequencies. In the studio they are a match for most of my mics, giving me the option to use the GM10 with a nice room mic (neumann TLM103, or sE 4400A for example) for a really nice acoustic sound.
The only drawbacks to mention are:
1. For obvious reasons, it's not great when 'slapping' the guitar whilst finger picking.
2. The mounting can be tricky if you've got a big bodied acoustic. Once you've got the hang of where to mount it this problem goes away!
So, if you;re recording acoustics a lot, I'd get one of these in your collection. I've now added another - you can't argue for the price.
Great quality and more than affordable. 10/10 for bang for your buck. Well done again sE!
