I'm 38 and over the last 5 years have made more scratch and better music than the rest of my earlier years combined. I'm not stopping becaue I hit 40, nor am I giving up my steady paycheck because it enables me to buy the toys AND vacation a few times a year AND save for retirement. I hate to say it, but everyone I know who's "made it" in music has no health coverage or dime one saved for retirement. Are you REALLY going to be juggling bar gigs at 70? If you don't have these bases covered and a concrete plan, you haven't made it. Not by a long shot.
