If your monitors are too forward in the mids, isn't there some kind of NS-10 solution? People used to tape a piece of tissue in front of the tweeter to tone down the highs. Couldn't you just tape a sock or a wad of French fries in front of your mid-forward speakers and lay the mids back? Or maybe bring in a talented soccer coach?
I want to nominate this post for the best one of the past several months. Extra points scored for the random introduction of French Fries being a useful food item that will block mids out of a monitor, devolving into soccer word-play on the terminology. Now, we just need to keep the strikers onside to receive the pass from the mid-forwards when shopping for monitors and we'll be good.
