@Wcb - It has way more character than any of the SSL emu's by waves. Without even driving it at all it adds harmonics. Try it with some test tone's and you'll see what's happening.
Back on subject....I didn't stumble upon the dual mono issue but if they modeled the consoles then I can honestly not realize how these guys mix their pairs (Overheads for example).
I did further testing and I'm amazed at how well it glues things, the bus is pretty cool and adds some nice color.
NLS Bus -> SSL Bus Comp -> MPX and you get some pretty cool stuff as long as your gain staging is good.
