This is false. Ludwig made the "Crome over Brass" snare one year and one year only. That year was 1959. It was referred to as a "transitional badge". This badge looks slightly different from the keystone badge. There are not a whole lot of them. And yes, they fetch $800 to as much as $1200 on ebay when they show up. I only know this stuff because a friend of mine has one. I've recorded it a bunch and it definitely has an edge to it. Lot's of midrange! Cuts like a mo-fo!
