The fast track is basic, it does what it's supposed to. I read mixed reviews to but I went ahead and got because unless there's a way for you to test it out yourself before you buy it, the only you'll know if it's for you is to get it. It's different for everyone.

Thanks for the review, I just ordered one from Amazon. I'm really curious to see how the Pro Tools SE will work on my computer. I didn't have any luck with Pro Tools Free, so I'm hoping this will at least work. I have good luck with M-Audio stuff, so I think the Fast Track should be okay.
As far as desktop computers go, I just bought a Dell 620 and I love it. It was only $399 and is good enough for my home studio needs.
