no real point to do that IMO unless you have a exceptional demand. Better off to have 1 very powerful host computer than 2-3 med power ones IMO.
Also for connectivity, it's better to keep things simple for both analog and digital reasons and ofc latency.
If you going to have the comps setup up anyway (like in different rooms), I think it's a good idea to use 1 for studio, 1 for songwriting etc... laptop for portable... but two desktops side by side??? nah
If you need 128 polyphony *3 then ok then your scoring for films.
