Hi
I was looking at some specs for switchmode supplies and they claim 100 or even 50 millivolts to be 'Low noise'.
Compared to a Kingshill or Coutant supply as used by Neve, Audix and others this is rubbish.
The 'old' linears specify LESS than 500 microvolts at full load current, this is around 40dB LESS noise. Plus you don't have vast quantities of higher harmonics to 'beat' with the pickup from your computer screen and all the other junk in the studio.
