A Cello (or other) bow comes in very handy in creating some beautiful sounds from pretty much all metal tined instruments. Indeed, you can even just bow sheets of metal.

Bowed saws... bowed xylophones, vibraphones, glocs, wine glasses...

To bow a gloc, its easiest to start with the bow around 80degrees to the edge of the tine, and vary your pressure until you work out the feel of getting the best sounds. But you can do all sorts of stuff with the bow once you get the hang of it.

Have a listen to the latest Amiina record if you want to hear tonnes of sounds made that way. They also do a lot of it live. There's a few people in the group who are very talented with a bow and saw too! Love that sound.

Looking forward to checking out the library. Brendan.
