I'm not being funny I am honestly trying to help. If anything sounds out of place sorry

You have it the wrong way around, the treatment should be in your control room first. Go have a word with the guys in the acoustics forum first, they are awesome and will help you immensely. The Likes of Glenn and ethan.

Don't skimp on monitors, do yourself a favour and sit down and audition the likes of a7s / focal etc.

Then, once you have this bit sorted out.. then consider putting a studio together.

I made the same mistake and it will save you a lot of money in the long run. Must of done nearly everything wrong in the book, but I have learnt from it.
