A very decent Otari MTR90 can be had for a few thousand dollars.
Even Studer A800's are relatively cheap.
nowhere NEAR the cost of a small house anymore.
they're not NO cost, but relatively inexpensive if that's what you want.
but you DO have to learn how to align and care for them.
