I think you'd find the UBK Fatso a lot more helpful to your goals than the Clariphonic. The Clariphonic adds sparkle but the UBK adds weight and an organic 3-d density to virtual instruments and drum machines. It makes them punchier and more 'alive', less flat and synthetic, if that makes any sense.
