I use my basses through a gallien 2000RB, and in the same rack i've got a line 6 pod to set up different amp models, a dbx 160 if I need punchy 80's bass, a summit mpc100 if i need a huge bass tone and a ebs multicomp on the multispectral setting for slapping and stuff. I's all I really need, you see (kind of an expensive rack, I know, but hey, I'm a live sound engineer who was tired of breaking its back everytime he took his rack to FOH position, so yes, I just put my beauties in my bassrig). Whenever someone asks a DI line from me, he can only take it post-amp. All colouring/compression is done by me already, dependent on the song.
