Sennheiser HD600. A bonus: They're EXTREMELY comfortable to wear. I've NEVER heard a totally neutral set of cans, or loudspeakers, for that matter. That said, the Sennheiser's are pretty darn flat without any major peaks. I feel they're a bit "warm" or maybe a little heavy in the extreme bottom, but nothing that's an obstacle.

The 650s sound a little brighter or thinner to me and I prefer the 600s.

Another interesting phenomenon is unit-to-unit consistency is not so great so there are variances.

AKG has a new "super model" which I have not heard, but which Headroom's website has good things to say and is the "rival" to the HD600's but with a slightly brighter tonal balance.

Expect to pay good money for a "neutral" set of phones.
