She's 16, so we'll cut her some slack, but...

a) she's surrounded by "yes-people", so there's very little chance of her breaking out of the thin, shaky, nasal vocal tone she's boxed herself into. I get the impression that nobody in her family is particularly musical,

b) I hate everything about this demo "song" of hers. I hate the stock Reason 1.0 keyboard loop, I hate the twiddly beer jingle guitar licks, and by the time we get to "Seen enough of the Real World on TV / it's time to change that station", I kinda want to punch everyone responsible. Now, as I've said on other threads, I have absolutely NO problem with danceable teen pop. Done well, it can be a helluva lot of fun (and judging from that "guilty pleasures" thread, lots of people here seem to have the same opinion, even if ya gotta beat it out of 'em). But this isn't that. It's bratty, unlikeable, and (perhaps the worst crime of all here), unmemorable. There's a reason why the Justins and the Britneys of the world employ the best songwriters in the business.
