Got an R-144 today and have to say that I am thoroughly impressed so far. The ribbon on this one was just right and the sound was super vintage, big, and clear. I've only tried it on voiceover work so far, but will be cranking up the horns and guitars this weekend to really put it through the ringer. I'm very optimistic after hearing what I heard this evening.

The mic has two distinct sounds on front and back sides that makes it more flexible for different tonalities. Definitely a mic that is going to see a lot of use in my studio.

Many thanks to OpenReel24/Roy Harper @ MXL for his assistance.
