Man... The R-40 is on backorder until Sept. 30th! So, I'll have to wait another month and a half before it might even be in stock with no guarantee of not being at the end of the line and having to wait.
Oddly enough, MXL's site doesn't even list the R40 anywhere. Just the R144, the R150, the R77, the 990 ribbon, and the UR-1 USB ribbon mic. Most of these I had never even heard of before, nor have I seen them for sale anywhere. I'm hoping the R40 doesn't turn out to be vaporware.
Getting a bit impatient...
